Confessions of a Wedding Hopper: What I Wore to Slay This Shaadi Season
Share
Dear Diary,
It’s wedding season again and you know what that means: four functions, fourteen outfit changes, and one ex who somehow shows up every single time. But this year, I had a secret weapon in my style arsenal my ethnic fits from Deasha India (a.k.a. my desi glow-up crew).
Let me break it down for you...
Episode 1: Roka Rizz
The bride wore a huge smile and even bigger diamonds. I, meanwhile, decided to keep it low-key luxe. A dreamy blush-pink kurta set with a beautiful organza dupatta that screamed, “I'm family—but like, cool family.” I paired it with soft curls, a nude lip, and the energy of someone who definitely didn’t come just for the snacks.
Did I make it to five Instagram stories? Yes. Did I accidentally match with the backdrop? Also yes. Am I mad about it? Not at all.

Episode 2: Haldi Horror? Never Heard of Her
Let’s talk haldi. A function where you’re literally at war with turmeric and still expected to look like a glowing goddess.
I wore a lehriya yellow sharara set with a kaftan that let me dance, dodge haldi attacks, and still look fresh AF by noon. Hair was tied in a messy ponytail (classic, but make it chaotic good). The vibe? Sunkissed and slightly stained but serving.

Episode 3: Mehendi Mayhem
Ah, the greenest day of them all. While most girls go for heavy lehengas, I chose a green sharara set with lace work that sparkled every time I moved. And trust me I moved a lot. The dhol was loud, the mehendi auntie was late, and my outfit? She held her own like a queen.
No dupatta disasters, no wardrobe malfunctions just me, vibing with the henna cones and handing out style envy for free.

Episode 4: Sangeet Saga
High drama. High heels. Higher expectations.
I wore a navy blue shrug and lehenga set because I wanted the twirl of lehenga and the glam of couture. A hair updo, dramatic eyes, and earrings that whispered “my nani gave me this and yes, it’s real.”
Someone said I looked like the villain in a Karan Johar movie and frankly, I took that as a compliment.

Episode 5: Shaadi Slay (Main Character Energy Unlocked)
The moment. The madness. The marriage.
Everyone went full royal-core, and I wasn’t about to be left behind. I went for a bold black saree with a beautiful embroidered blouse(enough to be a statement in its own 😉) High Ponytail. Red lipstick. Bindi so sharp it could cut toxic rishtedaar remarks in half.
By the end of the night, I wasn’t just best dressed I was the most remembered.

Final Thoughts?
Weddings are exhausting. Your outfit shouldn't be. So here's my new rule: Look fabulous, feel comfortable, and don’t fear the dance floor. With the right styling, a little cheek, and a lot of Deasha energy, you can absolutely own the wedding season no bride spotlight stealing required (unless you’re into that).
Until next baraat, Your favorite overdressed guest 🌸
